5 Most Overrated Movies of 2005

5. Mad Hot Ballroom

You guys might not know what this is.  It’s a documentary and it will most likely be nominated for an academy award.  I don’t know why, in my professional opinion, it was terrible.  It was like they couldn’t decide what they wanted it to be about, ballroom dancing or kids growing up in New York.  Neither one could hold my interest though.

4. Madagascar

Oh please.  Talking animals, what an original idea.  And since this movie did well, 4,896 talking, digitally created animal adventures are getting ready to come out.  Please stop making our children stupid.  Talking cars…now that’s something to look forward to.

3. Hitch

This is the exact opposite of what I was talking about last night with the whole good ending that makes up for a not so great movie thing.  Well, I actually enjoyed this movie and it just completely fell apart at the end.  It’s been like a year since I saw it, but I do remember that the ending ruined it.  I can’t understand why people still liked it.

2. Syriana

One of the three or four movies of 2005 that I fell asleep during.  The makers of this film actually explained that you’re not supposed to understand everything.  I’m sorry, but that’s just dumb to me.  I don’t like politics so, call me a stupid American if you want to.  Every now and then there’s some that come along that I just can’t understand what the hype is about.  This was one of them

1. Kung Fu Hustle

If you went out of your way to see this supposed foreign action-comedy, I feel for you.  We watched this movie in class at Full Sail twice and I hated it.  It’s stupid, not funny, and pointless.  Why so many people liked it I will simply never understand.  If you’ve never heard of it, then good.  Save your brain cells and leave it at that.
